Many of you were probably too young or not even born when the USSR or the Soviet Union
was finished. Whatever, the situation of the Soviet Union in other matters, the fact is that
the Progress of INDIA and CHINA was supported by USSR. India was clever. It was able to
get technology and military hardware and technology to locally manufacture it very cheaply
from USSR. It also sent its students for Graduate Study to USA for free, not USSR as much.

In the same way, China got a lot of technology from USSR when the relations were good.

Soviets were pioneer in many fields.
Chemistry (Mendeleev)
Electrochemistry, especially electroplating and electroforming
Machine Tools, making lathes
Metallurgy
Crystal Growth

They were also very good in the basic fields such as
Mathematics
Physics
Chemistry.

They were weak in electronics and semiconductors (microprocessor) and computers and software.

Today, Russia is strong in missiles, bombs ie the defense industry.

You Arabs have been begging USA for 50 years to build you a transistor factory.
A factory for the growth of Silicon single crystal.
A factory for the growth of Quartz crystal.
Considering the fact that you have so much sand in the desert, this should be a profitable industry.
Also you dont even make your own glass.

You will see a lot of books in this Russian site in Spanish. Cuba got a lot of help and development of
its Biotechnology from the Soviet Union.

All the Indians learnt their math from Russian books in their first generations of development.

Akhi, Jazak Allah for keeping the topic alive. We need to make friends with our Russian, Chinese and Indian brothers through the use of language translators like Systran and the better translators than that. Many forums cannot be surfed without translator on your machine because it need password. Please request brothers for upload of the best translator softwarez.

Thanks brother for your links but I don't see the benefit since they are for sell ! as you may observ here on this forum, all the books are given by our brothers free to download!
Besides, we do agree with the great value of the russian science and scientists but, still Allah (swt) owes the real and the whole knowledge of every thing in this univers. If the syrians and iraqi brothers did learn from the russians or from anybody else otherwise, because they do, doesn't mean anything since we are all humans and we learn from each others, besides we learn because we put some effort to get that knowledge , and don't forget, we arabs, can say well! everybody in this world did learn from us, including russians since we all know that the first people who realised some relevant and basic concepts of several sciences, from maths to medicine , in the earlier civilisations were arabs and persian muslims right!? you already know anyway since your nickname is IBN KHALDUN , btw this is the right name, so you should know who he was,
